what if all a user's questons/answers link to a competing Q&A site?
Hi Bob, your examples aren't silly, but I do think there is a slight difference between a link-only answer and someone egregiously trying to promote their product. Both are bad, but in slightly different ways. At least the link-only answers are genuine attempts to be helpful. MotorQA guy only cares about stealing our traffic so that he doesn't just have 8 questions on his site... :)

Hi @MarkJohnson, the FAQ section on promotion makes it clear that occasional, relevant promotion, with an affiliation disclaimer is okay, but if the bulk of your posts are to promote your product, the post could be flagged as spam and/or deleted. Judging by the lack of actual content, these posts don't look very genuine to me. I'd suggest the removal of the links, then leave the user a nice comment pointing to the relevant section of the FAQ.

Is the idea to downvote stupid ideas?
I know this has been a few weeks, but check out The Future of Community Wiki.

Are [marque-year] tags okay, or superfluous?
@theUg - The limitation is the main problem. Not everyone will use [ford] and [f150] in their question if they think other tags will be more useful. With that said, we tend to have less noise so far than all of the forums on Google, so maybe this isn't needed. Of course, we're also still small...

How to advertise "Free Tools" as a way to attract more followers to the site?
Fair enough, I just thought I had to play devils advocate as we could end up only awarding prizes to people who are already here ;) While that's not necessarily a bad thing, I thought it would be worth bringing up.

Hi Bob, the demographic sounds great to me. It consists of people who most likely know what they're doing, but don't do this sort of thing for a living. +1 on that. As for the rep requirement, I was thinking maybe it should be based on rep earned per month/quarter/period. Take me for instance, I have 900+ rep but I don't think I've done much here in awhile in terms of Q&A, so would it be fair for me to enter? Although I hate to take myself out of the running, that might be something to consider ;)
